Q: What is a gyro?
A gyro is a traditional Greek sandwich made with selected beef, beef and lamb or chicken meat seasoned with zesty spices, thinly sliced and piled high onto a fluffy handmade flatbread pita. A traditional gyro sandwich is topped with onions and tomatoes, as well as a flavorful, creamy cucumber sauce called tzatziki or gyro sauce.
Q: What type of meat does Kronos use to make its gyros?
The majority of our gyros are 85 percent beef and 15 percent lamb. We also sell all beef, Angus beef and chicken gyros.

There are many pronunciations of the word gyros, including “year-ros”, “juy-ros” and “gear-os”. The fact is, it doesn’t matter how you say it as long as you love them as much as we do!

Our meat processing facility is USDA approved and monitored. Additionally, our bakery is FDA, State of Illinois and City of Chicago inspected. We operate with a HACCP plan at all Kronos manufacturing facilities, and our trace recall program enables us to determine supplier, lot number, date of delivery, date of processing, test results and ingredients used. Plus, we routinely test for food-borne illnesses to ensure product safety.

We offer a full line of Halal products including beef gyros, chicken gyros and flatbread pita. All of our flatbread pita and fillo desserts are kosher certified.
